The Art & Science of Life

Does anyone really know their field of study at 16? Maybe not, but a strong desire to study medicine started with STEM in high school in NY and unfolded during my four years at PRINCETON UNIVERSITY. Studying Molecular Biology and writing a thesis on Genetic Counseling in Breast Cancer while playing the French horn, loving intramurals and participating in the student volunteer council all sustained me.

Then in medical training you move. On to four intense, but rewarding, years at WAKE FOREST SCHOOL OF MEDICINE.  Carolina blue skies! There, I balanced clinics with textbooks and developed a love for...   So much to be thankful for.

The next chapter… packed my bags to study at the UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI. Eleven years of loving the ‘Nati and being double boarded in Pediatrics and Dermatology.  What a stellar experience… I can say that now.  Nights were long; hospital rounds, microscopes, beepers, orders, textbooks; patients and differentials. I moonlighted as a suture doctor and worked a year as clinical staff at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center Emergency Department. Calm under pressure, I tried my best.

After training, I started in family dermatology for a few years before the migration south the Florida.  Adventurous and ambitious, DOCS was created. DOCS flourished for 15 years and ended with an acceptance in 2025 as the Best Dermatology Practice in Sarasota by Sarasota Herald Tribune. That accomplishment was due in part to the dedicated staff, the delivery of quality compassionate care, the strong referral base, devoted patients and the Sarasota Community.

And we come to the present… I will focus on analyzing, educating on and enjoying the world of Dermatology, until my feet hit the ground of the next clinic.
