The Many Facets of a Face
Walking around the Sarasota chalk festival, and I am always drawn to the squares depicting faces. They are captivating and vivid. They are multi-cultural. They are granular, layered works of art. One can interact with them on the surface or go deeper and try to understand their emotional context. For me, they depict the crossroads of anatomy and emotion with the overarching background of the impermanence of chalk.
